The most exciting trip I ever took! Honolulu, HI – Episode 1

There are so many words to describe how special and memorable this trip was in Hawaii. We did so much in a short period time, not to mention we also had a huge group of 19. We hiked, visited some really cool beaches, drove through some scenic routes, ate some awesome local food, went to a luau, and so much more. Thanks again Mike and Chrystine for organizing this all together! Where we going next?

This was definitely a fun and memorable wedding, sweet and straight to the point! It was my first time capturing a wedding on a ship, and it only made sense. James and Joanne kept there theme from their engagement (Cheap Thrills and Travel), I’ve captured them on a plane, train, and now a ship. lol

Along side me was my other half Jane Phu who did an amazing job on the Hair and Make-Up for the Bride and Bridal Party.

You might notice Chef James Du working on the famous white rabbit truck, cafe, and even on today’s famous food channels. He’s an amazing chef and a really good friend. Joanne and James have been together for as long as I can remember and I’m glad you too have finally sealed the deal. Thank you for honoring me as your photographer. Now make some babies!

I was fortunate and blessed to capture the beautiful wedding of Jon and Andrea in San Diego, CA. Jon is a close friend that I’ve known since elementary school, and I was honored to capture beautiful memories that they both can cherish for the rest of their lives. Also, It was my first time taken photos on a sail boat, and I literally almost fell off trying to take pictures of these two love birds. Here’s some photos from the event.

The Bside Manila Crew stayed here at one of the coolest resorts in Boracay Philippines. The bed and breakfast is one of the best kept secrets on the Island. To stay here is very affordable and the food is amazing, my favorite being the Adobo Flakes with rice and the Mongo! All day!

Stay here to enjoy the real island style getaway!

Here’s a few photos at the Jungle Bar which is on the other side of the Island. This place is like literally a jungle club with animals and all sorts of interesting people. Its an escape for local peeps as well as an low key location from all the tourists. However, tourists seem to end up here towards the middle of the night after the word spreads among the island. If your in Boracay – you definitely gotta check this spot out!

Lightning Strikes in Boracay, Philippines | Bside Manila x 1881 Project |

I became witness to one of the most amazing lightning storms on the Beautiful Island of Boracay Philippines. This is was the first shot that attracted to move towards that bamboo table, I didn’t have a tripod so I just set my camera on the table and started firing away. The lightning bolts were striking the water one after another – so here’s my first attempt at capturing lightning. =)

The ocean water was still, but up above came down aggressive bolts of electricity.

On the left you still see the local fisherman at work, at 1 am.

This was amazing to watch, I felt like I was a kid at Disneyland watching fireworks for the first time.

Here’s proof I was there lol, I stood in front of the camera during the shot and waved my cell phone back and forth. The human watermark. =)

The BLVD Spa is now open! Its located on the 2nd floor of the blvd hotel. Beauty Specialist Jane Phu was around to model with the therapists (free massage) lol The design is really nice and it definitely compliments the hotel’s boutique look and feel. Check it out!

These macarons are one of the hottest selling desserts at the White Rabbit Truck and the Cafe. Created by the beautiful Marie du, she’s constantly testing and baking up some magic at the White Rabbit Cafe. The flavors include Ube, Choconut, Pastillas, Milo, Mocha, and Calamansi Cheescake. My favorite is the choconut and milo, a must try! The famous macarons has been featured on many publications and kills the reviews on yelp. Stop by the cafe or the truck and try it out!
